Press ESC or DEL to access BIOS. Check whether can you can enter BIOS or not. If you can't enter BIOS, then mainboard is faulty and need to clear the CMOS. If you can access the BIOS, then checking following: 

1. Check the information in the BIOS and see if the hard disk is detected; 

2. Check if the RAM is working or faulty, usually RAM faulty will come with system beeping; 

3. Replace the SSD or other storage device with OS inside. 

If all above methods fail, the main board could be faulty and needs to be replaced

Please check if it's shut down already, or it goes to the "Hibernate" stage. In the newer Intel platforms, such as Apollo Lake and Coffee Lake, the default setting is set to Hibernate after 180 minutes in Windows OS. You can change it by going to "Power and Sleep" under "Systems" in "Settings". Clicks on "Additional power settings" (Usually it's on the right-hand side of the screen.) Then, clicks on "Change plan settings". Go to "Change advance power setting", and find "Sleep". Under "Hibernate after", you can change the setting you want.

Please check the OS you are using first. Currently, the RFID tool doesn't work on Windows 10 Pro version 1909. The alternative solution will be using the tool on a system with other OS (Either Windows 10 Enterprise IoT LTSC, Windows 10 Pro version 1903, or even Windows 7 Pro), any of them would work fine.

When you find the above situation, please update your Windows OS to the latest version first. Then, install the drivers later. If you still face the problem, please contact our service people.

Check the BIOS setting if the Primary Disk has set to the drive that contains boot up disk.

Check the volume if it has been tuned up.

Check the speaker if it’s installed (The speakers are optional device and they are located at back of right and left-hand side. If you don’t find the speakers, please contact your system integrator or supplier for more detail.)

Make sure MSR Type is USB HID Type or RS232 Type

Check the memory if it is properly installed.

Make sure if LCD Power Cable is properly connected.

Make sure the Boot Type is UEFI Boot Type or Legacy Type under BIOS setting

• Make sure LVDS Cable is connected firmly.

Check if COM1 or COM5 setting in BIOS is correct.

Check the BIOS setting if the Cash Drawer port has been turned ON.

Check the BIOS setting if the COM port power has been turned ON.

Make sure if SSD/HDD is connected to SATA connector firmly.

1. Discharge the AC, then reconnect the adaptor again 

2. Check if the power cable is loose or not 

3. Replace the adaptor and try again 

4. Disconnect all the peripherals then try again 

5. If system makes 4 abnormal beeping，Clean the memory and insert it back then try again 

6. Clear the CMOS on the mainboard and try again, instruction video will be provided for reference 

7. If all above methods fail, the main board could be faulty and needs to be replaced

• Check the BIOS setting if the VGA port power has been turned ON.

Before cleaning your POS systems
Although all of Penetek systems are with IP65 standard at front, for the safety precaution it is recommended to turn off the device and then unplug it from the power source before clean your POS terminals.

Cleaning your POS systems
Our current recommendations for cleaning POS systems as below, you can choose from one of the cleaners and spray it onto a cleaning cloth or towel.  Then, genteelly wipe the surface to be cleaned.

• Clean the touch screen with 75% alcohol, or 0.75 liter of 100% alcohol mix with 0.25 liter of pure water.
• Bleach – figure 1/3 cup bleach per gallon of water for mix ratio
• Clean surfaces with warm soapy water. 

*Do NOT use following material/liquid to clean your POS systems

• Abrasive cleaners
• Acids
• Detergents with abrasives
• Detergents with fluoride
• Detergents with ammonia at concentration > 1.6%
• Highly concentrated solutions of alcohol-based.
• Isopropyl Alcohol at concentration > 70%
• Methyl Alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol at concentration > 35%
• Strong alkali lyes
• Strong solvents
• Thinner or benzine

If you want to “further-clean”, you may consider getting a handheld UVC product for a specific area and safe UVC cleaning (after surfaces have been wiped down). 

After cleaning your POS systems
If you are using 75% alcohol or similar, it should only take a few seconds to dry out.  Others, please wait for the unit to dry before switching the system back on.  (If an area gets too wet, you can wipe it with a paper towel or a dry cloth.)
